PYROLYSIS ENGINEER
This is not a desk job. You will be on the ground building, fixing, optimising and scaling pyrolysis plants that turn biomass into biocarbon.
We already have working systems and demand for product. Now we need someone who can make plants run harder, longer, and more efficiently and replicate them fast.
LOCATION
Western Cape, ZA
EMPLOYMENT TYPE
Permanent
What You’ll Do
-
Get plants running - commissioning, tuning and pushing systems to stable, continuous operation
-
Own the process - temperature profiles, residence time, yields, condensation, everything that affects output
-
Maximise yield & quality - hit metallurgical biocarbon specs and consistent output
-
Fix problems fast - when something breaks, drifts or underperforms, you solve it
-
Work with real feedstock - inconsistent biomass, moisture, contamination - make it work anyway
-
Improve efficiency - energy reuse, heat integration, reducing fuel input and downtime
-
Scale what works - take a plant that runs and help us roll out multiple units quickly
-
Work with OEMs - refine and upgrade customised equipment in the field
Who You are
-
Engineering background (Chemical / Mechanical or similar)
-
Real experience with pyrolysis, gasification, fuels or high-temperature processing
-
You’ve commissioned or run industrial equipment before
-
You understand how process decisions affect yield, cost and uptime
-
Comfortable working in tough, imperfect operating environments
